Interactive Day Care

What is Interactive Day Care?

This is a program where dogs who don’t know each other are allowed to play together in small groups under close supervision. Dogs are admitted to the South Paw Acres program only after passing a careful screening process.

Doggie Day Care

Day Care services are offered Monday-Friday. All dogs arrive between 7-10 a.m. on their scheduled play days, and then leave between 4-6 p.m. Each dog is placed in a play group suited to his or her temperament and activity level. Generally, small dogs play with like-sized friends, while the larger dogs socialize with others of their size and temperament. Play groups are kept small, typically with 5 or less dogs in each one. All dogs get several hours of play time, mornings and afternoons. Everyone quiets down for a nap from 12-2 p.m. to relax and rest up.

Any dog using the day care services must have a scheduled appointment for each visit to participate. Regular days of the week are recommended (i.e. every Wednesday), as a predictable routine is healthier for your dog. Appointments need to be made at least 24 hours in advance, either by phone or e-mail. You need to have a response from SPA to be sure your dog is on the schedule before attending.
